Veolia Nuclear Solutions Has Been Nominated For Two APM Awards 2021

Veolia Nuclear Solutions is one of the finalists for the Association for Project Management 2021 in Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure Project of The Year Award and has been nominated by the judges for the Innovation in Project Management Award.

The Association for Project Management (APM) is the only chartered body for the project profession, with over 30,000 individual members and more than 500 organisations participating in their Corporate Partnership Programme. The award showcases the very best individuals, projects and programmes that the profession has to offer. The APM recognise the incredible contribution individuals and organisations has to offer from around the world.

The first award Veolia Nuclear Solutions is a finalist of, is the Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure Project of the Year Award 2021. This award is given to the team whose project demonstrates the most effective use of project management and the most impactful outcome to end-users. Veolia Nuclear Solutions alongside MIGSO | PCUBED are being recognised for the development of a novel, high technology solution to understand the nature of the damage caused during the earthquake and tsunami at Fukushima Daichi Reactor Unit 2 in 2011.

There are two stages for the Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure Project. In the first stage, each entry submits up to 3,000 words detailing how they have met the judging criteria for that category. Alongside this, imagery and graphics can be submitted to support the project. In the second stage, all finalists present virtually to a panel of judges outlining the "project management", "outcome and benefits" and "innovation and lessons learned".

For the first time in 2021 all entries, across every category, will be automatically considered for this award, given at the discretion of the awards judges and Awards Steering Group (ASG). The judges are looking for a project or programme that demonstrates outstanding performance in innovation. The judges nominated five projects for the Innovation in Project Management Aware, one being the collaboration between Veolia Nuclear Solution and MIGSO | PCUBED for The Fukushima Reactor Investigation project.
