Highlights of WNE 2025

36,000 Attendees, 1,070 Exhibitors, 80 Countries Represented, 1 Global Nuclear Community
Veolia Nuclear Solutions at the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been two weeks since we sponsored and exhibited at WNE 2025, alongside other industry-leading companies in the nuclear sector. An incredible three days of meeting inspiring people, having groundbreaking conversations, and sharing expertise and passion for addressing the challenges of the nuclear industry.

If we were to write about all of our highlights from the event, this piece would never end! Instead, watch our highlights video below and read a few stand-out moments that we have taken from WNE.

Networking, Showcasing Our Services, and Meeting Clients

It goes without saying that one of the highlights of WNE was the opportunity to connect with so many familiar faces and new contacts. The World Nuclear Exhibition is an important platform for industry collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing, that we're proud to be part of.

Throughout the event, we shared how we continue to deliver practical solutions across the entire nuclear lifecycle: from managing installations and radioactive waste, to operating and maintaining facilities efficiently, and decommissioning and restoring sites. Our approach focuses on pioneering solutions that prioritise the safeguarding of people, the environment, and the future of nuclear energy.

It was fantastic to meet with clients, discuss ongoing projects, and explore fascinating new ideas for future collaboration. These conversations are what make events like WNE so valuable.

Showcasing Innovation Beyond Boundaries with DexterTM at WNE’s BEE Expo

Visitors got hands-on with DexterTM, our force-feedback telemanipulator, showing an example of how Veolia’s innovations in robotics and AI are protecting people and advancing the nuclear sector (and beyond!)

An advanced remote manipulator system, DexterTM is designed to replicate the flexible, fine motor function of a human arm and the touch sensitivity of a human hand in an environment where humans simply cannot go! Find out more about Dexter.

Hosting two workshops for our SOLVERIS and UMTEC Projects

Both sessions sparked inspiration and great conversations about advancements in mobile modular water treatment and in-situ vitrification, highlighting our role in the next generation of nuclear safety and remediation.

The UMTEC Project is a revolutionary mobile modular water treatment system designed to mitigate coolant contamination in case of severe nuclear accidents. Co-developed by Veolia, REEL, AEMCO, and Cegelec-CEM, UMTEC safely decontaminates highly radioactive reactor coolant using closed-loop filtration and ion exchange technologies. Fully transportable and deployable within three months, it addresses critical challenges including robustness and extreme contamination compatibility.

The SOLVERIS Project, backed by the France 2030 initiative, is scaling up GeoMelt ISV thermal technology for the remediation of contaminated sites, sustainably treating soils, contaminated land and legacy waste. It is a collaborative research project by Veolia, CEA, BRGM, Assystem, and ECI MECA, supported by the French government and ANDRA (French national radioactive waste management agency).

Driving innovation for the next generation of nuclear energy with Blue Capsule Technology

Another highlight for our team was meeting with the team from Blue Capsule Technology and discussing our collaboration on their high-temperature reactor (HTR) programme.

Veolia’s nuclear solutions engineering teams are leading the design for the reactor’s Fuel Handling Machine (FHM), a critical system enabling fast, continuous refuelling in extreme, high-radiation, high-temperature environments. This design delivers a resilient, fit-for-purpose solution tailored to the Blue Capsule reactor design.

“Partnerships like this demonstrate the strength of collaboration in driving innovation. By combining Blue Capsule’s forward-thinking reactor design with VNS’s technical expertise, we can help accelerate the delivery of safe and efficient nuclear energy solutions.” Christine LAMOUROUX-LUCAS, CEO, Veolia | Nuclear Solutions

We had a fantastic experience at WNE and are already counting the days until the next exhibition in 2027! Missed us at the event, or have a question about our solutions and how we could support you? Get in touch and we would be happy to discuss.
