Veolia Nuclear Solutions – Federal Services part of contract-winning team for U.S. Department of Energy cleanup contract in Ohio

Veolia’s U.S. nuclear clean up arm is an integrated subcontractor on the $5.87 billion contract at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management awarded the Portsmouth Decontamination and Decommissioning (PORTS D&D) contract July 13 to Southern Ohio Cleanup Company (SOCCo). Veolia Nuclear Solutions – Federal Services (VNSFS) serves as an integrated subcontractor of SOCCo. The venture is led by Amentum, Fluor and Cavendish Nuclear.

The contract has an estimated value of $5.87 billion, over a 10-year period, and includes performance of task orders issued up to an additional five years. The new D&D Contract replaces the PORTS D&D contract currently held by Fluor–BWXT Portsmouth, LLC (FBP).

Work to be performed under this new contract will include, but not be limited to demolition and disposal of facilities, process equipment, related process buildings, and other ancillary facilities. The contract also includes remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater, and disposition of uranium material.
